My wife and I were recently in Las Vegas, she saw a display at a hotel, a water pool with flames dancing on the water. She said "I want one of thoes in the back yard!" I said "OK." HELP!! I can't find a thing on how to build one, a smaller version of course. It seems, after scouring the internet, there is more info on how to build a rocket to the moon!

I'm thinking, off the top of my head, that there were pipes sticking up above or near the top surface of the water. The flames were from burning whatever was coming out of the pipes, such as natural gas, propane, alcohol or something of that nature. Alcohol lamps are probably the safest and most economical. Your first mistake was saying "OK" LOL! I think Ray is right on target. I remember reading an article on this a while back, or was it on HGTV? .... Have you tried their website for ideas? If I find anything I'll report back. Anything worth dewing is worth dewing well!

Make sure fire is not near anything that can spread.
I am not sure if I would want fire coming out of my ponds.
On the other hand it sure would scare away preditors !
Might be costly but a motion sensor tripped valve for a flamable with some kind of igniter might work.
Most flamable liquids float on water but they would ruin any plants used for filtration and scare the hll out of any fish. I guess it might make your pond ice-free in the winter. Seems scary to me. Randy

you can use an old gas grill for controls useing the same principiles with exception to air mix you can run an additional pipe the gas jets go approx.1/8 to 1/4 inch below water level
