When I signed up 2 years ago I was promised that I would receive new products to test and keep. I have yet to receive anything, and now after reviewing my profile, it says I have to renew my membership to get free test products. Is this Club really legit?

I think those were the items that came with the HCOA Club book they wanted you to buy - there was a little 3x5 card you were supposed to fill out your evaluation on and include with your book payment. When you stopped buying the books, the items stopped being sent too.

If your membership is current, you should be able to fill out a product test profile. Keep in mind that you have to keep your profile updated. Once you are selected to test a product, you have to re-submit your profile after submitting the product test form. You do not have to purchase anything other than membership to test products.

I think what it means is you have to fill out the 'product test form' which states you want to be on the list for testing products other wise they don't know you want to. If you are a lifetime member you don't have to renew anything.

Get a load of this. I got an email from Handyman Club, saying that because i signed up recently for the free plans download, that this counts as product testing. I joined this club exclusively because they offered free testing of tools, of which I have seen none in two years. Once my membership is over, I am out of this club. I believe the whole club idea is a gimmick as I continually receive notices to become a life member. Why would anyone do that when they won't even fulfill their promise of product testing for new members?

bjkaufman... Please post HERE the 'promise' that you got to test tools and keep them for free. I really would like to see that promise in writing. What you actually got, and correct me if I'm wrong, is an offer to joing the Handyman Club of America, where one of the membership benefits is to test and keep the tools tested. I'm sure that you don't have any 'promise' in writing. You've been around two years and this is the first time that you have posted or particiapted in this forum. I would have liked to see you sooner as you probably have much to share with the rest of us. That is where this 'club' shines.....this forum. There is a dedicated group of members who spend countless hours answering questions from other members. We all learn from each other. That, to me, is more valuable than any other tool that you may or may not get. Hang around awhile. There are over two million members, it'll take some time to get to you.
